Our Journey

Tradition, passion and craftsmanship in every step.

The time of the shoe.

A handcrafted shoe does not end with the gesture that created it. It continues to live, to tell who thought of it, who wore it, and who made it.

In this space we collect our traces: experiments, private collections, special orders and moments that deserve to be remembered.

A living archive, made up of images and words, where the present is reflected in the past to trace the path towards the future.

At the Carlino shoemaker: where making shoes is art

Riccardo Cianci is the owner of Calzoleria Carlino, founded by his grandfather in 1958 and moved during the pandemic to via Pia 5 in Sassuolo. Each custom-made shoe requires about 100 hours of work and is made on a custom wooden last, as in the tradition of over 150 years ago.

How does Remote Bespoke work?

Thanks to our online measurement sheet, you can easily send us measurements to create your own custom-made footwear. At the beginning of the process, you will also receive a try-on shoe to check its fit before final production.

One pair of shoes, endless possibilities.

The “Remote Bespoke” service in the footwear industry, born after 2020, is becoming increasingly popular. An example is the pair of custom-made shoes that I received from Riccardo Cianci of Calzoleria Carlino to test his new remote service.

“Only what is worth remembering deserves to be made by hand.”

The importance of guarding.

Each creation is a chapter in our history.

Archiving does not mean looking back, but giving shape to an identity, protecting the experience, honoring the masters.

We’ll continue to tell the story of what shaped us, to give each new shoe deeper roots.

Encounters and Experiences.

Every meeting with a customer, every discussion with experts, has enriched us and has contributed to making our story unique. Here’s what they say about us…

Buyer's guide – Calzoleria Carlino.

Calzoleria Carlino is an Italian manufacturer that, slowly but steadily, has begun to make a name for itself both nationally and internationally in recent years. A traditional and “old school” Italian style, enhanced by the extensive use of extraordinary vintage leathers, combined with a competitive price, makes this brand particularly interesting. Here is a buying guide of the brand, based on a pair of custom-made lazyman oxfords made remotely for me in vintage pigskin…
